Cavan and Leitrim Railway by P.J. Flanagan (Paperback).
Patrick Joseph Flanagan, PhD, BSc, 'discovered' the Cavan and Leitrim railway in 1956 while in the process of making day excursions on railways in the order in which they appeared in the timetable. As a result, he paid many more visits to the railway until its closure in 1959. Four years later, he had the idea of writing a history of the line and with the help of the people of Leitrim, the book was completed in 1966.
Born in 1940, and educated in Ireland, the author is now a chemist with the National Institute for Physical Planning and Construction Research. His main interests are social history, transport history, photography, and the cinema.
